Green bonds
In February 2017, Atrium Ljungberg launched a framework for green corporate bonds. The green bond framework outlines investments that lead to more sustainable properties, reduced energy consumption, and lower climate impact, qualifying them for financing through green bonds.
Following the adoption of a new sustainability strategy and new sustainability goals at the end of 2021, a new green framework was released at the beginning of 2022. In February 2025, the framework was updated again, including stricter requirements for green project categories and links to the EU Taxonomy.
Green bonds are issued under Atrium Ljungberg's MTN program, where the documentation aligns with other bonds under the MTN program. The essential difference is that the proceeds from green bonds can only be allocated to projects and assets that qualify according to Atrium Ljungberg's green framework.
A second opinion on the framework has been conducted by S&P Global Ratings, the successor organization to the climate research foundation Cicero. An annual report is published, describing the use of proceeds from issued green bonds and compliance with the green framework. An audit report by an independent and qualified third party will also be published annually.
