Slussen - Where the entire city meets

Slussen, one of Stockholm's most iconic locations, is undergoing its largest transformation in over 80 years. Once completed, Slussen will be both a crucial transportation hub and a fantastic urban space with restaurants and promenades along the water. Cars and buses along Stadsgårdskajen will be moved underground.

Stockholm's major construction project, New Slussen, is in full swing and will continue to impact the area until 2030. Slussen is set to become an attractive meeting place with new squares, promenades, and the area's first park. Public transport, pedestrians, and cyclists will have more space, while areas for car traffic will be reduced and adapted to accommodate today's traffic flows. New buildings and commercial spaces will be created both above and below ground.

Well-known properties at Slussen

At Slussen, we own several well-known properties that together form a prominent front towards Stadsgårdskajen. The Glass House is one of Stockholm's most famous buildings, surrounded by the newly renovated Katarina House and the Seamen's Institute. Today, all three properties are used as office spaces with views over Stockholm's most central parts. In recent years, several new restaurants and bars have opened in Katarina House, including the newly reopened Gondolen, the rooftop terrace Pelago, Café Klotet, and Pet Sounds Bar.

Mälarterrassen – Everyone's meeting place

Mälarterrassen will be a fantastic spot with a panoramic view over the Old Town, in the heart of Stockholm next to Söderström and Slussen. It will feature spaces for six restaurants with outdoor seating, all aiming to perform at their best. It will become a go-to place for Stockholmers and tourists alike for food and experiences. From 2026, businesses will gradually open.

Creating Stockholm's new business heart

We have a land allocation for the new commercial area of 16,000 BTA, connecting the subway with the new bus terminal and Saltsjöbanan. This area will feature over 50 spaces for shops, restaurants, and services for the hundreds of thousands who visit Slussen daily. The commercial area will also border Mälarterrassen.

In front of Katarina House, we also have a building right of approximately 7,500 square meters BTA. Here, we plan to develop modern offices with views over Stockholm, with public businesses on the ground floor. The nearest neighbor will be the Nobel Center, planned to be built in front of the Glass House. All this means that we will be one of the largest property owners at Slussen, actively contributing to the area's development and attractiveness for a long time.
